Teaching in Wales = same as the rest of the world ?

Having viewed an article today about teachers in Wales, where nine out of 10 teachers say that they have excessive workloads – it made me wonder…is this the same for the rest of the world ?

Do teachers in China, India, Canada etc etc all have the same issue ?  Do 67.8% of them say that they are unable to achieve a work-life balance ?  Do 66% of them state that the biggest impact on their workload is marking ?

Although considered by many as a profession for life, one headteacher within the article states that they don’t plan to be in the profession after the age of 55.  I’ll be lucky if I can retire at 80 !
